Je m’intéresse à la poésie, et plus particulièrement aux questions de versification, dont l’étude offre un accès privilégié à l’interprétation des textes poétiques. Je développe pour ceci des outils spécifiques, tirant parti des nouvelles possibilités ouvertes par l’informatique et les statistiques. 

Après avoir été chercheuse invitée à University of California, Berkeley (2007-2009), et à University of Leeds (Royaume Uni) (2009-2012), j’ai obtenu mon doctorat en 2013 à l’Université Paris 3 – Sorbonne Nouvelle pour une thèse intitulée « La Versification de Raymond Queneau ; approche statistique à partir d’une base de données ». L’ouvrage tiré de cette thèse, Des Chiffres et des mètres, est actuellement sous presse aux Éditions Honoré Champion.  

J’ai rejoint le séminaire d’études françaises de Bâle en 2016, grâce à une bourse post-doctorale du Fonds National Suisse (Marie Heim-Vögtlin) pour mener mon projet de recherche « Métrique et vers libre, approche interdisciplinaire d’une forme poétique ». Je travaille en collaboration avec le laboratoire ATILF-CNRS de Nancy, qui m’a élue membre associée en 2016, et avec le DHLab de Bâle.

J’ai fondé en 2017 le groupe de chercheurs Plotting Poetry - Machiner la poésie , dans le prolongement d’un colloque initial du même nom organisé à l’Université de Bâle en 2017. Rassemblés autour d’un intérêt commun pour une lecture appareillée des textes poétiques, nous organisons chaque année une manifestation scientifique internationale : à Berlin en 2018, Nancy en 2019, Prague en 2020.

En 2019, j’ai reçu du Fonds National Suisse une bourse professorale (PRIMA), pour diriger à Bâle le projet « Le Rire des vers » qui explorera les interactions de la versification et de l’humour dans un corpus versifié moderne.

I am interested in poetry, specifically in versification. the study of which offers a remarkable insight into poetic texts, and opens up a path towards interpretation.

After being a visiting researcher at University of California, Berkeley, (2007-2009), and at University of Leeds (UK) (2009-2012), I recieved my PhD in 2013 from Université Paris 3 – Sorbonne Nouvelle with highest honours, for a dissertation titled « Raymond Queneau’s Versification ; a Statistical Approach Using a Database ». A monography extracted from this dissertation, Des Chiffres et des mètres, is currently in press at Éditions Honoré Champion.

I joined the french studies department in Basel in 2016, thanks to a postdoctoral fellowship awarded by the Swiss National Foundation (Marie Heim-Vögtlin) to conduct my own research project around « Metrics and Free Verse, Interdisciplinary Approach to a Poetic Form ». I work together with the ATILF-CNRS laboratory in Nancy, which made me an associate member in 2016, and with the Basel DHLab.

In 2017, I founded the group « Plotting Poetry - Machiner la poésie, following an initial conference organised in Basel in 2017. Gathered around a shared interest into a mechanically-enhanced reading of poetic texts, we organise a yearly international conference : Berlin in 2018, Nancy in 2019, Prague in 2020.

In 2019, I have been awarded a professoral fellowship by the Swiss National Foundation (PRIMA), to lead the project « Mining the Comic Verse » and explore the interactiuons between versification and humour in a modern corpus of versified texts.
